All the options he had listed in the previously started thread would toggle the same way that your system asks. The only difference I can find is that you seem to be asking that it's a list-wide action, where it would always alert me about every friend, or it wouldn't alert me about any.
To that, I would add the suggestion that the Friends Online/Offline can be right-clicked and toggled to set the whole of that list to notification or not.
Either way, there really is another thread on this idea.

That's why there is a toggle option, to turn it on and off. Turn it off and it won't effect you while those of us that want it can recieve its benefits.

<Player> [<your guild>] has set their status to <status here>.
And for friends, just take out the tag.
However, it MUST be a TOGGLE option.

I would agree except for the last one. Theres a reason you can toggle your status other people shouldn't know if you are online when you set it offline unless you want them too.

Well, if you set your status to offline, wouldn't this addition just go to the logged off message?

Yet another feature that WoW has that GW would have a great benefit from. They also allowed you to get notifications in the chat log when a guild member signed on/off. Plus you could toggle these options!

Lord, i WISH. im a chatty person ingame, and it bugs me to have to open my friends list every time i want to check if someones online to talk to. (i find i get bored out of my mind if im not chatting with someone while farming/cartograpizing/capping.)
its simple. a little message in the chat log when someone logs on.
"Such And Such" Has Logged On. (and by clicking their name it opens their name in whisper.

/signed... if there is a downside, i am unaware of it. Basically, if you dont like it, then you can turn it off. How can you say, "not signed" to a suggestion like that?

If i'm looking for a mate to come on asap, i'd like to know when they do come on.
And to anyone saying "Omgz it r annoyinz /nonsigned lolol!11!!1" it should be able to be turned off, so for people who like it can turn it on, and people who hate it can turn it off!

Sometimes you just want to log in, see who's on and log off. I don't need any my friends mad at me cause I didn't stay on, and I definitely don't need people that don't like me monitoring my comings and goings.
And yeah, I use the friends list to keep track of at least one player that I promised I will never group with again.

You don't need the time expansion on their logged out time, and on your guild roster, you also have no message when people log in and out.

Always wondered why GW doesn't tell you when friends come on. Also, in general we need more options, like a command to tell you where your friend is at the moment. The friends interface has not been changed at all since Prophecies.

I don't see your point. I have someone on my friends list that is not my friend. I monitor his account to avoid him. I don't have to be in his friends list to do this.
Everybody has a guy that annoys them, that they can't ignore because of some personal relationship that the annoying guy has with one of your real friends.
Now, do you want this person to get an alert every time you log on? I don't.
